In this lesson we examine Philippians 3:17-19 and ask and answer what is an enemy and are we enemies of the cross? Most in Christianity understand it was through the death of Jesus on the cross and Him shedding His precious blood that we have the forgiveness of sins. The cross is an emblem of shame, but to the child of God we realize that forgiveness of sins was made possible because of the sinless sacrifice that shed His blood on that cross. In this lesson we examine what does the word “called” mean in the New Testament and how are we called today. We also show that obedience to the calling gives us peace, liberty, and eternal life if we remain faithful to the calling (Revelation 2:10). Sometimes we tend to doubt the power of one person taking a stand for what is right. Often times people are reluctant to be on a island by themselves because it is the unpopular thing to do. In this lesson we examine one vote that changed the world and one God Man dying on a cross that changed the world. I believe if we examine the cross and the power of Jesus who died on that one cross we will be more emboldened to live Godly lives. This sermon was preached by Brian Birdow and if you have any questions or comments please call or email. For a great read on the three crosses click here.
